Dr. Sano graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Veterinary Medicine, at Nippon Veterinary and Life Science University in 1999. He completed his doctoral program in Veterinary Medicine at the Graduate School of Agricultural and Life Sciences, The University of Tokyo, in 2003.

In 2003, he was appointed as a Research Assistant in the Laboratory of Veterinary Radiology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Kitasato University. In 2007, he became an Assistant Professor in the Laboratory of Small Animal Surgery III, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Kitasato University. In 2008, he served as a Research Assistant and later as an Assistant Professor in the Laboratory of Comprehensive Clinical Veterinary Medicine, Department of Veterinary Medicine, College of Bioresource Sciences, Nihon University.

In 2012, Dr. Sano was appointed Associate Professor in the Department of Veterinary Nursing and Technology, School of Veterinary Medicine, Rakuno Gakuen University. In 2021, he became Associate Professor in the Department of Veterinary Medicine, Rakuno Gakuen University.

Since June 2023, he has served as Associate Professor in the Division of Clinical Veterinary Medicine, Companion Animal Medicine Unit, Obihiro University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine.
