Dr. Sano graduated from Nippon Veterinary and Zootechnical University (now Nippon Veterinary and Life Science University) in 1999. In 2003, he completed the doctoral program in Veterinary Medical Sciences at the Graduate School of Agricultural and Life Sciences, The University of Tokyo, earning a PhD in Veterinary Medicine. From 2003 to 2008, he served in the Department of Veterinary Science at Kitasato University.

He then worked in the Department of Veterinary Medicine at Nihon University’s College of Bioresource Sciences from 2008 to 2012, followed by the School of Veterinary Medicine and the Department of Veterinary Nursing and Technology at Rakuno Gakuen University from 2012 to 2022.

He has held his current position since 2022.
