Dr. Hiroki is a board-certified Veterinary Anesthesiologist with over a decade of international experience across clinical practice, research, and education.
He graduated from Nippon Veterinary and Life Science University in Japan, completed his Anesthesia residency at Cornell University, and later served as a Lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania.
He is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia (ACVAA) and a registered specialist in New Zealand and Hong Kong. He is also a De Facto Diplomate of the Asian College of Veterinary Surgeons (AiCVS), as its first officially recognised Anesthesiologist by the Asian Veterinary Collage.
He earned his PhD from Massey University in New Zealand for research on perioperative fluid therapy in dogs and served as Senior Lecturer in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia, supervising trainees and leading the Anesthesia service. He has published many peer-reviewed papers, reflecting his commitment to advancing the field.
In Hong Kong, Dr. Hiroki has held key leadership roles, including serving as Head of Specialty Services at a major referral hospital. Most recently, he established and led the Anesthesia team at another leading referral centre, providing advanced Anesthetic care for complex surgical and interventional cardiology cases in Hong Kong
With a passion for clinical excellence, teaching, and patient safety, Dr. Hiroki brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Animal Medical Academy Hospital, where he continues to promote high standards of Veterinary Anesthesia and Pain Management.
