David Bessler

VMD

Veterinary Emergency Group (USA)

As a career ER vet since 2003, Dr. Bessler has a passion for “Helping People And Their Pets When They Need It Most.” His intense focus on treating both pets and their people made him realize emergency care was broken. Beyond the pets who were sick, their people and emergency caregivers were frustrated and angry much of the time because of a lack of transparency and an us-vs-them approach. Says Dr. Bessler, “How could every kid’s childhood dream, and a career so full of heroic helping, be so unrewarding and aggravating?” Armed with something to prove, he purchased the first VEG hospital in 2014 and worked night and day to reinvent the veterinary emergency experience. Dr. Bessler and a ragtag team of not-normal VEGgies literally broke down walls to create open emergency rooms where customers stay by their pets’ side and literally participate in each other’s emergency experiences. This revolutionary shift in care was exactly what pet parents and emergency vet professionals wanted because VEG has the highest NPS in the vet industry. Today, VEG has 100+ hospitals nationwide, treating hundreds of thousands of pets in a year, The VEG Way.
