Dr. McBride is a board-certified specialist in Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) with the American and European Colleges of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care.
After completing her veterinary degree at the University of Sydney, she worked in general and emergency practice across Australia before undertaking specialist residency training at Murdoch University. Upon earning her ACVECC certification, she served as a lecturer at the Royal Veterinary College (UK), training students, interns, and residents. More recently, she has been appointed adjunct professor at CityU Veterinary Medical Center in Hong Kong.
Dr. McBride has authored research papers and textbook chapters in ECC, with special interests in oxygen therapy, fluid therapy, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, sepsis, and mechanical ventilation. She also holds a Master’s in Healthcare Simulation and Patient Safety from the National University of Ireland, focusing on human factors, communication, and teamwork to enhance patient outcomes and staff well-being.
Outside of work, she enjoys live music, drumming, cooking vegan feasts, hiking, swimming, yoga, and meditation.
