What is CPR Battle?

CPR teams, consisting of veterinarians and pet nurses, compete against each other, using the latest simulators to recreate real cardiac arrests and CPR. Team communication and teamwork are also evaluated while following the RECOVER CPR algorithm. There is a debriefing after the competition, where participants can learn from the results of other teams. This event allows you to improve your CPR skills and get various information from other experts. Anyone can participate, so please come and join us! Of course, you are also welcome to come to the venue and watch and learn!

What is RECOVER?

The introduction of evidence-based guidelines and standardized training has improved survival rates in human medicine. However, there is still a lack of standardized guidelines and training in veterinary medicine, which impacts outcomes in canine and feline cardiac arrest patients. The Reevaluation of Veterinary Resuscitation (RECOVER) movement, supported by the American Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society (VECCS) and the Association of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Specialists (ACVECC), is addressing this issue by developing evidence-based, consensus-based CPR guidelines for dogs and cats. RECOVER CPR is the only veterinary CPR certification program officially recognized by VECCS and ACVECC, and is a non-profit organization.

How to get RECOVER certified

JaVECCS also conducts RECOVER certification in addition to this competition. Participants must first take the "RECOVER WEB Course" and then the "RECOVER Practical Course". Those who successfully complete both will be sent a certificate. For more information, please see the RECOVER website.
